COMPASS is an acronym for Committee of Marine Professionals and Ship Suppliers. It is a joint committee established by NAMS (National Association of Marine Services) and CSSA (Canadian Ship Supply and Services Association). COMPASS was formed in 1994 to provide the two ship supply and service associations of North America an opportunity to collaborate and network with one another.
COMPASS provides two primary services to the North American ship services and supply industry:
- The annual meeting (which also goes by the name COMPASS) is a key benefit provided by this joint committee. Over the years, the COMPASS meeting has been hosted in a variety of locations, and in 2019 we will be convening in Austin, Texas the first week of April.
- COMPASS also makes this website available as a shared resource to members of the ship supply and services profession. The website features information about both the United States and Canadian professional associations as well as other relevant industry information.
To receive occasional updates and communications from COMPASS, you can add your name to our electronic newsletter mailing list here.
The members of the COMPASS Leadership Group are comprised of representatives from the two associations as follows:
Rocky Rocksborough-Smith, President, CSSA
Robert Zeagman of Seagulf Marine
Mark Bishop of Clipper Ship
